Years in IT—

My first mainframe job—
Helping my mother as a class proctor in a COBOL class at a vocational school in the late ’70s.

My favorite mainframe memory—
My favorite memory was watching someone drop a stack of punched cards on the floor of the reader room, it made grown men cry like a baby.

As far as attributes, I’ve always been amazed by the scalability of the mainframe and the level of sophistication of its technology. As someone who worked across several platforms early in my career, it was very easy to see which horse to “bet my career on.”
