The second Destination z Tips and Techniques Challenge is only days away from its Oct. 12 deadline for contest entries. So far, we’ve received more than a dozen pieces of mainframe advice shared by members of the ever-expanding Destination z community.
More than one entry exalts the wisdom of timely backups. That advice rings true for most of us—regardless of our jobs. As a writer/editor who knows the sting of losing a nearly finished article that wasn’t saved before my laptop crashed—it motivates me to hit “command-s” every few seconds.
Other tidbits of mainframe advice focus on the benefits of adopting Rational Developer for System z (RDz).
You can check out all of the entries so far in our z & A community forum
. You have until Friday, Oct. 12, to submit your own entry as well.
Three finalist will be chosen from the qualified entries for members to vote on, starting next week. The top vote-getter will win a $100 Visa gift card and an IBM Heritage T-shirt like this one
. One lucky voter who posts a rationale for selecting one of the finalists will be chosen at random to receive a prize as well.
So enter now and come back next week to vote for your favorite mainframe advice.
