Wow, the mainframe-related tips and techniques have been coming in steadily since we launched the Destination z Tips and Techniques Challenge
at SHARE on March 12. We figured the Destination z community would be clamoring to compete for a LEGO model of zEnterprise 114, and we weren’t disappointed.
Tips and techniques posted, so far, include a call out to a great System z Redbooks publication, REXX programming tips and several other short but good ideas. Longer tips have also been entered, including one that explains how to handle the “GDG Generation Not Found JCL Error.”
Take a look, you might be able to solve a problem with one of these tips. You could also post your own. The contest is open through May 4. A panel of experts will select three finalists, which will be put to a vote by Destination z members. The top vote-getter will be named in June.
I encourage you to visit the forums and take a look at the tips. While you’re there, check out our other forum threads, too. Destination z offers forum threads for everyone from new mainframers to those who have been computing on the venerable platform for years.
